About us
Vargön Alloys AB, a part of the CoreX Group, is one of Europe’s largest producers of high-carbon ferrochrome.
Today, Vargön Alloys operates globally and provides leading producers of stainless and special steels with ferrochrome – the valuable alloy that gives steel its hardness and resistance to corrosion. The plant has around 220 employees who operate Sweden’s only smelter around-the-clock every day of the year.
Sustainability
Vargön Alloys developed its own energy recovery systems as early as the 1950s. Today, the focus on the environment is clearer than ever and we are constantly developing our technology and skills to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.

For decades, Vargön Alloys has worked ceaselessly to remain a prominent player on the world market. We have pursued our vision of being the go-to supplier of sustainable ferrochrome and creating added value for producers of stainless and special steel by constantly focusing on innovation, developing knowledge and preparing for the future.
